PARTICIPANTS’ PROFILE & PRE-REQUISITES
Candidates must fulfil the following criteria before being accepted on a Level I Lecturer’s Course.
1. Preferably Experience as a teacher of skill learning
2. A University graduate (or equivalent) in a sports related discipline (or similar)
3. Be available to their National Federation and IAAF to present Level I courses
4. Proficient and fluent in the RDC Language, both spoken and written. If the Lecturer Course is conducted on a National level the language may be either RDC or the local language Athletics Coaching background to a minimum of IAAF CECS Level I
5. Be physically fit and able demonstrate the rough technical model of all athletic events.
Candidate’s who have in the last two years attended a Lecturer’s Course, but who did not receive accreditation as a CECS Level I Lecturer are prohibited from attending further Lecturer’s Courses. The maximal amount of repetition is two with at least two years of teaching activities between.
The maximum number of participants for a Level I Lecturer’s course is 15.
CONTENT
Level I Lecturer Courses follow a standard syllabus and timetable. The amount of time required for each unit is dependent according to the topic and the needs of the course participants.
Candidates are expected to take part in all units of the course. They will also be required to perform demonstrations of the “rough” technical form of each event.
